About
Doctor Miracle (Le docteur Miracle) is an opérette by the French composer Georges Bizet. The libretto, by Léon Battu and Ludovic Halévy, is based on a play entitled Saint Patrick's Day, itself inspired by an Italian story. Bizet wrote the work when he was just eighteen years old for a competition and won the top prize in 1857. Now, Doctor Miracle is coming back to life in 2025!
This charming one-act comedy is sure to delight all audiences with its whimsical plot twists, sparkling score, and message about the ultimate triumph of Doctor Miracle — who is in fact Love itself, how else?
Staged with sets and costumes, sung in English, and accompanied by chamber instrumentalists. Duration one hour.
